Who Are We And What Do We Do Around Here?
Flour Bluff Youth Football League (FBYFL) is a local, non-profit 501(c)3 volunteer organization that has benefited the children of the Coastal Bend area since February of 2012.
Our foundation sports (tackle football and fall cheerleading) began as a way for the Flour Bluff community to help keep kids active as well as prepare them to be competitive at the junior high level. We continue with this mission to this day along with teaching young athletes the power of teamwork and discipline.
To continue our diversification, we expanded into flag football (now with an endorsement from NFL Flag). Our first winter flag football season started off with over 180 athletes participating, forming 5 divisions, with a total of 24 teams.
The goal of FBYFL is to promote leadership, character, sportsmanship, tolerance, and discipline through the youth sports of tackle football, flag football, and cheerleading. Our programs are open to all children ages 5-12, and do not restrict membership due to race, religion, gender, or ability.
FBYFL has coached over 800 participants every year - with growth each year! This accomplishment is under the direction of 9 volunteer board members, dozens of volunteer coaches, and hundreds of volunteer hours.
As we continue to grow, we are improving our existing programs by offering summer camps and working closely with Flour Bluff ISD. We are also mapping out how we can expand into other team sports allowing us to continue to positively change the lives of the children and families of the Coastal Bend.
